Should my Friends and Family Come to Court With Me?

Many clients wonder if they should have their friends or family members come to court with them.  While it is not necessary for them to come to every court appearance, is can be very important for them to come as often as possible as the case gets ready for trial (and, of course, at the trial itself).

Having friends and family come with you can convey to the court that you have a stable environment around you.  This is a great message to send, especially if you are trying to convince a judge at a motions hearing that you didn’t commit the crime for which you are charged.  If your case goes to a jury trial, then a jury will look more favorably on you if it looks like you have friends and family there to support you.
